An extraction canopy is the hood above a commercial cooking line that captures heat, steam, grease and fumes and draws them through baffle filters into the extract ductwork. Cool Stream fabricates its canopies from 304 grade, 20 gauge stainless steel in wall, island, L-shaped, box and dishwasher types, made to DW/172 and tested to BS6173.

With more than 50 years' experience, our highly skilled craftsmen consistently produce extraction canopies to exacting standards — standard and bespoke, made-to-measure solutions for Chinese, Thai and Indian restaurants and takeaways, pizza and chip shops, hotels, hospitals, schools and commercial canteens.
All our extraction canopies are fabricated and manufactured at our own UK facility from 304 (En.1.4301) grade, 20 gauge (1mm) stainless steel. Canopies are suitably braced to prevent distortion and all joints are welded and polished, with visible surfaces finished in fine grain satin to match other catering equipment. Products are manufactured to the DW/172 standard for kitchen ventilation systems, and canopies are thoroughly tested for conformity to BS6173.
All our canopies include a full perimeter integrally-formed channel with a double angled lower edge for strength and safety. Where joints are required, they're formed using an internal standing seam with cover strip. Our expert engineers liaise with consulting engineers, architects, mechanical contractors and end users to ensure every system is fit for purpose with a long service life — from full design-and-build through to project completion, or individual services to suit.

Standard canopies measure 1100mm deep x 470mm high (back) and 350mm high (front). Also available in 1300mm and 1500mm depths — the 1500mm depth version stands 500mm high at the back and 400mm at the front.

We offer stainless steel baffle filter replacements for your commercial kitchen extraction canopy. The unique non-grease-loading design with interlocking baffle walls restricts the passage of flames into the ductwork, while the smooth surface lets deposited grease run off via drainage holes into collecting trays, minimising grease build-up.
